Originating in Manchester in 1980, we designed some of the first post-industrial conversions in the city. We’ve been steadily rejuvenating buildings and sites ever since, across Manchester and beyond.

Over four decades our principles have remained constant: imaginative modern design, a respect for the past, and a focus on individual architectural solutions.

Our award-winning practice is a distinctive mix of contemporary architecture and existing character, creativity and craft.

We are modern architects.

We are also conservation architects.

We understand heritage.

We also understand commerciality.

We don’t categorise ourselves- we just focus on context, character and cleverly designed schemes.

Manchester based: UK wide.

OUR SERVICES

Throughout all our work is the fundamental belief that retention and reuse of buildings is a more sustainable approach. We believe new technologies, new materials and clever architecture can create greener projects and we will always encourage our clients to reduce their environmental impact through our design work.

ARCHITECTURE

A chartered RIBA practice, we work on new build schemes, conversion of existing sites and buildings, refurbishments and works to historic properties from RIBA stage 0 to 7

HERITAGE

Understanding underpins all our architectural work and we have a heritage specialist and historian working alongside our team undertaking research, advising on historic importance, composing heritage statements and conducting assessments.

FEASIBILITY

We undertake feasibility studies for new and existing sites and buildings

INTERIOR DESIGN

As part of our wider offer to clients we offer interior design services.
